Code of Research Ethics
Ethics and plagiarism are the significant components in research and publication. Sometimes it is observed that researchers claim others’ work as their own, which will degrade the reputation of the individual/College. The purpose of this set of guidelines is to provide a positively oriented set of practical suggestions for maintaining integrity in research. Because the adherence to ethical research practice leads to more attention to the details of scientific research including qualitative analysis, quantitative and statistical techniques and to more thoughtful collaboration among investigators. Also, the credibility of Science with the general public depends on the maintenance of the highest ethical standards in research.
College has formed its own College Research Committee (CRC). This CRC assess the academic/research work of the student/researcher scholar/ researcher who produce their work in the form of Project reports, Research papers, Research proposals and thesis work. Especially the research work in the form of papers/projects should go through the process of plagiarism and has to maintain high academic and production standards. The research work produced would be thoroughly assessed for their viability across the globe and needs to reach the highest success. We take some extra measures to ensure that the work is at par with the National/International standards.
Our College strictly follows the research ethics, which need to be bounded and admired by the entire faculty. The said guidelines stand as key factor and driving force to our staff. Keeping in view of research as tool to enhance and upgrade lives of all walk of society, we as team striving hard to do the best in our practices.
- The research must have objectives and aims.
- The research must be thought provoking, analytical and apt to execution.
- The research areas should support either directly or indirectly student and faculty community.
- The research must be genuine and practically worth to study (One need to acknowledge it’s their own work).
- The researching staff and student must take prior permission from respective department head (i.e. To take guidance and support from the authorities).
- The researcher should provide concrete evidences in support of aims and objectives of their respective topics.
- The researcher should do SWOT analysis.
- The researcher should share their ideas and views in the faculty development program i.e. in order to make all the other staff members part of new research.
- We encourage the researcher by rewarding through incentives as decided by the management committee.
Code of Ethics to check malpractices and plagiarism in research
Research misconduct is defined as fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism including misrepresentation of credentials in proposing, performing, or reviewing research or in reporting research results. It does not include honest error or differences of opinion. Misconduct as defined above is viewed as a serious professional deviation that is subject to sanctions imposed both by the College and by many professional associations and in the case of funded research, the respective funding agency.
The College is committed to producing and promoting research and scholarship of the highest quality, devoid of plagiarism of any sort and other unethical practices while trying to allow academic freedom and innovative thinking. The College instructs its teachers and students to abide by the highest standards of integrity in their conduct of academic research and/or support to academic research activities. Plagiarism constitutes unethical scientific behavior and is never acceptable. Proper acknowledgement of the work of others used in a research work must always be given. Further, it is the obligation of each author to provide prompt retractions or corrections of errors in published works.
- Faculties should maintain the culture of honesty and transparency in all its research activities.
- For ensuring originality of the content every thesis will be checked by anti-plagiarism software.
- Every researcher of the College pursuing doctoral degree has to check his/her final thesis using plagiarism detector – Turnitin– before submission.
- The thesis is allowed for submission only if the plagiarism checker shows similarity less than that prescribed by the University norms.
- No form of plagiarism is allowed in the College. Plagiarism may be of various kinds such as claiming another’s paper as one’s own, copying or paraphrasing substantial parts of another’s work without due acknowledgement and claiming credit for another’s research and so on.
- Use of freely available software to catch instances of plagiarism during review. In case of the teachers/students attending/participating in any conference, permission must be sought from the Principal in writing, stating the purpose of the visit, the name and venue of the seminar/conference.
- The College lays strong emphasis on the standard of research, original thought and expression which are ensured through multiple layers of review.
- We also keep our teachers and students informed of appropriate guidelines for publication in various journals, including those recognized by the UGC. Our library is equipped with some quality journals from the world over, which provide a platform for quality research and writing for our teachers and students.
- When in doubt about the accepted ethical standards in a particular case, a researcher should discuss the matter on a confidential basis with an academic in charge, another respected colleague, or the IQAC head.

- No Objection certificate from Co-authors
- Copy right form from author(s)
